I'll have a kayak by next year, then you're all going down.

Except I can't follow through on that promise. I'll probably get skunked. But I'll sure try!

Lane,
Come on to Lubbock this weekend. I have a Jackson Coosa or a Cuda 12 you could borrow for the day. All you will need is life jacket, fishing gear and probably some rain gear.
PM me your number if you really want to come this weekend and try it out. They are getting fatter by the day.

I don't think the flooding will be near as bad as the first lure tournament and there were several fish caught that day. The rain will level the playing field a little for the people coming from out of town. The reed placement will be lot different I bet.

I had 3.25 inches of rain Wed. night west of town.

Supposed to be in the low 40s Saturday morning and only get up to 66, maybe the front will turn em on?

If not, who cares, let's have some fun!

Might just mean making some adjustments and downsizing on bait, as well as making repeated casts flips or pitches to the same piece of cover but either way the bass will be caught.

Looks like the weather is going to be nice tomorrow for the WTKF Fall Finale. We did get 3.25 inches of rain around town a couple nights ago and the lake is probably a little higher than usual and a little stained. Get your dirty water tackle ready.

Entry Fee: Free with a lure side pot for big bass.
Payout: 1st place gets one event paid for in WTKF 2016
Date: Saturday 10-24-2015
Start Time: 7:30 am (captains meeting)
End Time: 12:00 pm (Lines out)
Limit: 5 fish limit with 10 inch minimum
Drawings for free prizes will be after all anglers have submitted their photos and Tournament Directors have final results.
Please have your kayaks are in the water before the captains meeting at 7:30 sharp. Be courteous and get on and off the ramps as fast as possible for the next person.
If you are not familiar with Dunbar lake the boundaries and boat ramp are here https://goo.gl/W67dMl

Oh yea the Lubbock Cabelas had a two Hawg Troughs on the shelf if anybody needs one.

Brutally cold for this time of year but people actually came out and braved the wind for our last tournament of the year and we really do appreciate everyone that came out to fish. Huge thanks to Cody Stewart aka YankinJunkie for putting on a fun event. Even though the fishing was tough we all had a good time and can't wait to do it again. good thing we changed the minimum length down to 10" and it allowed me to get the win with a 5 dink limit and a 14.5" big bass. lol. Thanks again to Cody and all that came out and fished with us once again. Here's a little video I put together.

Work called me to DFW this weekend unfortunately. Should have my own boat by next weekend though.

As Clay stated the fishing was slow and the sun never did come out like I had anticipated to warm it up a little bit. We did get a couple new faces show up and hope those guys had a good time.

Congrats to Clay! He was the only angler to catch 5 fish on a very slow day. Probably the slowest day I have seen all year.
Here are the results and a couple pics.

Results:
1st: Clay Williamson (and Big Bass)
2nd: Brad Burch
3rd: Blake Cline
4th: Jace Green
5th: Adam Sanchez
6th: Chris Russell, Bobby Rex, Chase Espe

I know its a long drive but I hope some of you DFW guys can make it to our Lake Alan Henry tournament next year. Although it hasn't had any sharelunkers pulled out of it in years it still holds some big fish and a lot of spotted bass. It is tied for 2nd with Sam Rayburn and O.H. Ivie for 2nd most sharelunkers just behind Lake Forks 257 according to this article.
