I still have an old paper map I bought at Johnsons Ranch 20 yrs ago. It's easy to see before modern gps units how easy it would be to get lost! Lake always had a few pike for a bonus! I got a paper map finally. Will use it next trip for sure. My GPS was off a tad. It showed Big Cypress as Alligator Bayou. Johnson's Ranch was like stepping back in time. We got ice there yesterday. You know that porch has heard some tall tales....

Mark, can I please live vicariously through you? Glad you had a great time, that looks awesome. Hope the Mrs. is felling better.  Thanks. She says she is but she looks miserable. Hopefully she can get in to see the Doc in the AM. She never gets sick like this.

Can't wait for Toledo Bend on Friday though. Good times, good friends and good fishing. You and I are hitting Caddo soon as well. Got Chris talked into it. We need a group to go down there and enjoy the bite before it gets cold. Would love to go!

Mr. Perry, I know you probably know already, but I would only run on plane in the actual boat lanes. There's some very bad stuff not far off of the boat lanes that could do alot of damage to your boat or worse. Other than that have a great time if you return, it's definitely worth it !!!
Ps: there use to be a program on Caddo where if you caught a 8 lb bass and reported it with pictures and measurements of the fish and released it they would pay 80% for your replica mount. 9 lb would be 90% and 10 lb or bigger would be 100%.
I don't know if this still is available but I would keep it in mind and if you do catch 1 like that call the game warden to find out...

Btw, what's goin on with your seat? I bought a pair of Under Armor board shorts that have pockets on the back. They have these little metal tabs that snap. Did not realize they were cutting into my seat every time I got up and down to get on the TM that day until it was too late. My fault. Gonna order a whole new bench seat in the new style when I recarpet the boat this winter.

Heck I found a few stumps in the boat lanes but I was idling in those instances. The river is about the only place I ran on plane. I admit I was jealous at how easy those Go Devil boats get around out there.

I remember flying down the boat lane and looking to the driver's side of the water going by and no more than 5-10 ft away was old oil rig stuff, stumps, suckered rods!!!
Beautiful lake, but you have to respect it too...

I got my PB a 10.68 from Caddo three years ago in October. Love the lake! Most unique lake in Texas.

Beautiful looking place. Sorry to hear about the wife.....hope she's better. Worry about partner will sure take your mind off of fishing but, looks like you got some in.
Pictures are great....looks idealic (spa).
Love a frog bite, LOL, haven't had that many but man, the blow up is exciting.
Good report...I have never been there...isn't that one of the TM only lakes ??
Looks like you caught more than a few even in a short time on the water..

No sir, it's not a trolling motor only lake. You just have to be careful where you run at. If you run off the boat lane you're taking a very big chance!!!!
Some of my funniest times fishing were on Caddo. Sitting in the Big Green Break area catching schooling bass 1 after another and not little dinks either.. I'm talking 2-5 lb bass. You could catch them til you couldn't even hold the rod anymore !!!!
