Would you fish this? Log pile setting at the mouth of a feeder creek.

Looking at the left side in the water column, there are some clouds of shad and then some piles of fish. Would the Crappie experts say these are Crappie possibly?

Could be, but my money is on it being Whites. They stack up like that under bait when feeding. However, if those are bridge columns then it would be crappie.

My guess is that they are crappie.
Crappie tend to be on oval shaped schools.
Sandbass tend to be in flat schools.
If I saw that, I would be fishing for crappie.
Just my opinion.

Just my opinion. That's always been my experience as well. It was a bridge, I was just looking under it to see what was there. We had already had a stellar day fishing for Hybrids and were heading in when I looked at this.

Im with SCK that looks like a crappie school. It can be difficult to get bit with that much bait in the area, they are lazy fish and it looks like they would just have to open there mouth to eat a shad . great image btw, which unit is that?

Would you fish this? Log pile setting at the mouth of a feeder creek. Was there any other boats setting on it? Was there any boats close by? If'n not you bet I'd be all over that structure..... nice shot.....

thats what I figured , wish my helix was that good. That was a default setting shot. I have since got it better. I have seen some really good images from the Helix. I think the key to those may be upgrading to the HDSI Transducer.

I got a Lowrance Elite Chirp 7. Haven't used it on the water yet. Anybody have one that may suggest their setting to get started?
