Tommie, on the bottom Down Imaging picture I see the bush and the fish but tell me where that bush is
in relation to your boat. Is it in front, right under, to one side or the other or have you already passed over it? Also the DI image I can relate to. When I look at Side Scan I can't tell for sure what
I am looking at.

The DI is what passes under the boat. When I took that snapshot, I had already gone over the pile and waited until the image got into the middle of the screen before taking the snapshot. Those are bridge pilings and an underwater road/bridge in the SI views. The dark lines out to the sides are the shadows cast by the pilings.

Kirk,
I do have on my Onix 10 but erased the shots on my phone that I took at Grapevine a couple weeks ago. If you'd like to see it in person, I'm going Saturday (haven't decided where) and you're welcome to come along if you'd like. Just let me know.

Whichever unit you decide on the next best thing you can do is spend a few hours with Forkfish for an on the water tutorial with your unit. It will be the best money you can spend.

Both the Lowrance and Hummingbird are good units. Do you want to network a trolling motor through your unit? If so you need to decide which TM you like because it is Lowrance/Motorguide or Hummingbird/Minnkota. If you don't want to network them together then it really doesn't matter.

Here are some pictures from my HDS 7 Gen 3. Same tree top, different angle.

I certainly like mine. I only wish I could have gotten the 9" or 12" model but at the time I couldn't. I hope to eventually get a 9 or 12 and move the 7 to the front. That and a Motorguide Xi5 to network.....

Ghostrider, those are some very good pictures. Apparently you have your unit set up very well.
The down imaging pictures are exactly the kind I am looking for. Those I can understand clearly.
Thanks

Johnny
