No I haven't walked 10 mile creek. I drove by it yesterday. It looked really pretty. I was tempted to just stop and try right then and there. hehe When do you want to walk it?

Don't know when I can go as I don't own a car and have to walk/borrow my sisters. I saw the Creek at the service road from 35. This is the section where Wal-Mart is visible running parallel to Beltline. I don't own any wading boots.

You will catch more fish on that popper if you take the swivel off. Man that kills the action. If you want to catch more fish, try a wacky rigged Senko or just a Texas rigged senko. Also pick up some brush hogs. You wont regret it.

@musiclife_7 The bass aren't biting on anything other than top water. I saw a fish jump up about a foot into the air trying to eat a wasp.

thats a sign that the water you're fishing doesn't have a sufficient amount of baitfish

Doubt it, I have seen blue gill feeding on the baitfish. There isn't a large population of baitfish though. I blame it on the turtles. Don't know how to fix it being a public pond and what not.

Pretty big contradiction in your statement. If the bass your catching are skinny, and they're feeding in wasp/dragonflies. There aren't enough baitfish for the bass to prey on. Why would a bass be looking to eat insects if there were plenty of baitfish around

Because the baitfish are big ones and not tiny ones.

For the sunfish I would try smaller hooks #8 long shank. That should help your hookup ratio

+1 aquaholic1822, I've been fishing this pond for years.. The fish have gotten smaller and smaller over those years too. It wouldn't be surprising if you came out of there with a 4-5 pounder. Now its surprising if you catch a 2lb fish from there. There is little to no baitfish in there. Just blue gill.

This means it's probably over populated. But...if they are chasing insects on top, top water will work. It's all about presentation.
