I often use a Mister Twister Sin-Sation trailer when I fish a single spin, especially a black one at night. I think the added bulk makes it easier for fish to see in the dark. During the day, I seldom use a trailer. I almost always use a trailer hook at night. but use one during the day only if the fish are striking short.

I use the Stanley pro trailer plus a offshore angler shrimp twin trailer ( they have some great colors) that are very tough and have great action. Go to bass pro salt water lures to get them.

I feel like it causes to much drag on the lure when coming through the water. That means it falls slower. . .which equals bites. . .

7# caught with a baby carrot as the trailer...no lie. I was just being Dad when my 15 year old daughter put it on and said I couldn't take it off. I told her to at least expose the hook point and I started throwing it... ROFL! Now that's awesome.
