So seriously, how do you use the stuff? What depth of water generally, etc.

And is this mostly a channel catfish technique?

Just drop the whole block into a 5 gallon-bucket. End up.
Might want to cover with; rain or lake Water. An add; some-
left-over chicken skins to it. Let that block of cheese. Melt down an
stir from the top.
Gets gameiy for sure. But worth it this fall.

I'm a banker so here's my input :

I fill a large coffee can and sling it out in an arc in 3' to 15' feet of water . I catch mainly channels but have caught small blues and a few carp .

Went out yesterday and chummed around 2 boat docks. Fished the area for 3 hours with stink bait, hot dogs and live perch. Friend caught one flathead but no other fish caught. Not the best time to fish since we could not start till 0900.

Will give the chum another try for redemption.

I keep a small bucket of milo in my boat all the time. Put water in it and let it sit in the boat. Just keep adding to it as it is depleted. A small amount (handful) is all that is needed to attract catfish if they are around. If they are biting good and suddenly stop, I'll toss a little of the milo into the water, and usually it entices them to start biting again.

Yeah, the hardest part is finding them.
