For cheap, widely available non fancy option; the Kalin Saltwater swim jig heads and bullet heads work just fine. available from 1/4oz up to 1.5oz

^^^^^^^ These are very good too and a quite a bit less than the Owners. I prefer the Owner hook but nothing wrong with the Kalin's. The bullet heads work better than the more triangular swimbait heads with the basstrix http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Kalins_Ultimate_Saltwater_Bullet_Jig_3pk/descpage-KUUS.html

I have the answer, but you will have to hire Cody Malone for the day to find out.

Derrick, I'm a big fan of the Basstrix. No need to get fancy with jig heads. The fish can't tell a fancy, like-like painted one from a plain lead head. They're keying on your bait and its action, not the jighead. Save your money and buy Owner Bullets. Perhaps a little super glue. They're all you need. Like these... http://www.fishermanswarehouse.com/shop/owner-saltwater-bullet-ultra-head/ I have several $$$ worth of swimbait heads. Pretty ones with all kinds of bait keepers, eyes, lifelike features, etc. They're a waste of money, imo. p.s.-you need to try the 7" for bass on Fork Thanks, Fouz! I'm a big fan of Owner products. I'll get some of these. And, I'll grab some 7" too.

I know Cody is a beast! Would love to fish with him one day. But, I don't have to hire him to find out about a jig head. It was a half joke, but he really does have a killer head that no one else throws, I learned it from Cody guide trip. It has caught me 50% of my 8+ pounders the last 3 years.

Check out War Baits! Very high quality lead heads with built in weed guards. They're designed for fishing soft plastic swimsuits on the west coast for Calico bass.
