Try 6-9' and secondary drop off main lake points.we used missile swim baits and caught some good fish slow rolling also go shallow early with buzz bait or pop' then back out.

Fished Rayburn as a change of pace from Fork, yesterday. I did catch some fish but all tiny. Stayed shallow and in the shade when possibly. Didn't catch any over a pound... senkos and spinner baits in around the trees under the shade, tiny rapala countdown for the schooling bass on the outside of the grass. Beautiful lake.
Theres the problem.....With the water falling so fast from being almost 10' High. Most of the bigger fish have been 10+ ft. With them pulling constant current lots of fish being caught on river swings and bends..

Cool pictures. I ventured there a few weeks ago when it was officially 9.5 feet high. Since I love pitching to bushes, I REALLY enjoyed the lake.
There were a couple of times I could get my boat thru the outside trees and get closer to the shoreline. But, when I started seeing the wasps nests as big as a basketball, I figured I didn't want to accidentally bump one and try to hide myself in 3 feet of water, knowing snakes and gators are working in conjunction with the wasps.
Outside bushes, or willows on points were only places I could find fish.
Still, Compared to Fork, just getting away from the crowds was worth the 90 mile drive...

Coach WOW! I was out yesterday and only had two short fish. I guess I should have "zigged" when I "zagged". Last time I went south. and had no luck, so this time I went North and had no luck. The dropping water is really making it different for this time of the year!
