If you look at the records I believe they are from Hamilton.

No the Arkansas state record striped bass came from Beaver Lake.

Very likely a World Record striper came from Ouachita:

That's not to say Hamilton doesn't have its share of behemoth stripers...it does. The problem with Hamilton I've seen is it is a circus of pleasure boaters, jet skis, and just about everything imaginable. The best times to fish Hamilton, IMO, are after Labor day when schools are back in session and a lot of the pleasure boaters are doing other things.

I took my Pelican Bass Raider with me to Ouachita this last week on a mini vacation with the wife and kid to meet up with the in-laws and got on some largemouths that were schooled up busting shad at the end of the marina at Echo Canyon Resort. It was hard to chase them at a maximum of 3.6 mph, but I managed to catch a few on a chug-bug in 75-90 feet of water. Had I been in a bigger boat and been able to chase them a bit, I know I could have done a lot better. This was between 7:30 and 8:30 am. I also had the pleasure of meeting and visiting with (two days in a row) a young man who works for Humminbird. He was out there mapping the lake for the new Lakemaster chips. Cool guy with a primo job!
