Well your not holding it out as far as possible to make it look bigger. Mouth is small to be so long. Very nice fish Congrats, 6.125 lbs wet.

Ok, since I'm bored I spent some time looking at the picture. Based on the fact that you have a pretty good bend in the elbow of the arm that holds the fish and that the tail is even with your lower thigh you weren't really doing the hold the fish at arm's length to make it look bigger trick. This makes me think that this fish was pretty long. Also the distance between the mouth and the dorsal fin is considerable which again makes me think that this was a very long but unfortunately thin fish. Based on those observations I would guess between 7.5 and 8. Did you happen to measure her? Whatever she weighed thanks for releasing her!

Didn't measure here but you are correct.....my observation during the short amount of time she was aboard was that she was long and thin but not sickly thin. Maybe post spawn thin. I remember thinking that if she had average bass mass on her she would maybe push 9 or even 10. Pretty large head and mouth. 7 to 7.5 is a good guess. You are also correct on the observation that I don't do the hide your fingers and extend your arm trick. Hahaha....so what you see is what you get in this pic.
