for denison, probably not anytime soon. I don't want to deal with crowd since i rarely get to go fishing. Just want to find some peaceful time. I will be on vacation this coming week unless my boss says otherwise. i want to try catfishing. maybe lavon or hubbard.. would love to catch one of those big flathead. you wanna go?

No cat fishing for me! To me, cat fishing is no fun. Week days are not that crowded at DD. I only fish week days.

Good to know it's not too crowd weekdays. Moon, you should try catfishing sometimes, it can be fun. When a school of blue catfish hit you you better secure your poles or they will drag your pole in the water. We were fishing for white bass and hibrids, dead sticking from the bank at Cedar Creek Lake, a 15# blue catfish pulled my pole in the water so quickly, I jumped in the water after it but just like that it was gone. A few minutes later my wife snagged the line some 50 yards from the bank, we got both my rod and the 15 lber back. Lol

Dunky, if you want to catch flathead, Ray Hubbard is good choice, but for blue catfish, try Cedar Creek or Tawakoni.

Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.

Hahaha..that would be a challenge catching catfish on fly rod, even though it's possible in theory... the closest I had to fly fishing was using a bobber with live locust. I could see catfish jumping and eating locust on water surface but I couldn't get them cats to bite my locust... it must be operator's error. crazy
