I saw a lot of people getting fines for this already. Also culling fish will get you a nice fine. The wardens mean business this year that's for sure. Tight lines

There are currently 4 game wardens dressed in civil clothing out there. It is also illegal to share a cooler or stringer while your fishing. For example 1 stringer means one person if you have two people fishing and you both caught 3 each that's 6 fish on one stringer. Means one fish over the limit for one person. Same goes for the cooler. Just FYI MY FRIENDS. Let's keep it honest people share cooler on boats all the time, that can't be illegal. Have you seen guide boats carry 4 coolers per trip? I never bring more than one cooler on family fishing trips, and had been checked by GW several times over the years, they never said anything. May be OK or Red River have different regs, would be nice to know the actual regs codes, just to be safe.
Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.

Procession limit per person "technically" means your fish should be separate. I know it isn't fishing but I was once fined for having too many dove. Me and the wife sitting side by side with our birds between us in a pile, 3 birds over a possession limit....judge threw the "technically" thing at me when I explained the situation, which is what I'd expect would be his views on fish as well. Different warden listened to that story and laughed, said he wouldn't have fined me, and said he would give his partner some jabs about it next time he saw him. Basically they'd have a good laugh at my fine...

It depends on the warden. Before I even started fishing one day, a warden approached a group of us and told us that we each need to separate our stringers/buckets. Most likely he would've given us a fine. Some are more strict than others. I can recognize a few that are.

no seriously, I fish from the bank all the time, and have been checked by GW at least twice the last three years when four of us were sharing a cooler, they usually asked to see cooler I just opened it for them and we talked fish a bit then they went on their way, never an issue with shared cooler.

Here is something else to consider. I recently fished at Broken Bow and was checked by a warden there. He told me in OK you have to have your name on your stringer. Of course I didn't but he lent me a pen and I took care of that ASAP. He didn't write me up just very respectfully informed me of the law.

that is lame.. since when fishing was suppose to be so much hassle. you can't share cooler with your family or friends? Man, what's next, rod, reel, bait??? why not a boat? Like they are having trouble finding some real violators? There are tons of them out there. Or are they just having a bad day? This is why as much as i have respect for law enforcers, some of the clowns among them make me think twice.

My aunt is 70 yrs old. A game warden asked to see her fishing license because she was walking with me. She was not carrying any fishing equipment. Luckily she had a license or they probably would've ticketed her. She was only there to watch that day.

I suppose DD is very messy in many levels... keep it simple, legal, honest to the spirit of the law (down to the letters)... 5 fish or better yet just one Big one take some photos to savor the fight for months... OK, back to reality, have not made it to DD, yet. But first want to get a reel to battle the 100k CFS currents... what y'all think of this reel Shimano Sustain SA5000FG ..... 41" per turn, 20 lb max drag, weighted 10.6 oz.

sustain will handle it, bankfisher. real light, & great drag on that reel, maybe move up to the 5k for braid capacity re: coolers & bank offenses; Stay Legal, understand & follow the law to the letter & no problems sounds pretty easy to me..... oh yeah, pick up your damn trash!!!!!!! are we freeloading opportunists & poachers? or are we Anglers who love our game & their environment? how hard is that decision, really??????

Seperate stringers are understandable but coolers are crazy. What should you do if you go fishing with 4 kids assuming they are between 10 and 15? should you bring 5 coolers? I do not thing so. I witnessed a GW threated to give a guy who lend his rod to a friend who's rod broke a ticket. He said that the fish he caught will be counted together with the fish his friend caught since the rod is his. This is rediculous but oh well. They are there for good reasons but sometimes they are way out of wack.
