Always been told fish head shallow when the water colors up and stick close to cover. But I'm far from a PK pro. I hate muddy water-I'll go anywhere to get away from it. Which is why I have always liked PK-its usually fairly clear on the lower end. Is Graham a muddy mess too? I got some stain but not quite the levels of PK. I'm pretty sure a good chunk of it came from that muddy brazos and not just the now underwater beaches. Even west texas got so much rain this year that when it rains as far as Lubbock, it makes its way all the way to PK a while afterwards. It's been a pretty steady pour-in lately. Levels can go up 6 inches overnight with little to no rain. Graham gets its share from brazos too though. It got some of that muddy love no doubt. OK tbates one more time THE BRAZOS DOES NOT RUN INTO LAKE GRAHAM ANYWHERE PERIOD. Alright man no need to go all caps lock mode on me. I thought it did. Mistake. It gained stain like I said to answer your question. <walks backwards slowly>

I just like the title of the thread..."The struggle is real"!
Yes sir. It is... Everywhere sometimes. Keep searching. And like the others have stated, if you aren't hitting cover with each cast, you aren't fishing close enough to it.
Eat. Sleep. Fish.

Ok sorry about that but I see that a dozen times a year. To catch fish on PK with the muddy water go to the very backs of pockets, coves, creeks or anywhere the water might have a chance to be out of the current to look for any water that is not as muddy. A good example is Neely's Slough or the creek that goes by Possum Hollow. Try to get in the very back of those kind of places to find that clearer water. I had a house on Deep Elm Creek for over 20 years and those were the places I always found bass in these conditions. I live on Lake Graham now and it is as muddy as I have ever seen it.

chart/black back square bill crank baits on points, and chart. chatter baits with swim bait trailer to match for the morning bite, then drop shot deep points and channel bends, the fish will still find your bait in the dirty water. good luck. the BLT will be there this Sunday maybe they will find the fish.

Thanks for the info guys. Sounds like I got some solid advice on both locations and baits. I have to admit I haven't hit the creeks as hard as I should have been. Old habits die hard ya know. Awesome forums as always (lurker for some time). We'll give it a shot next weekend. And try to remember, a bad days fishing is better than a good day at the office.

Skeeter, Have you been there and had success with this pattern lately or is it just a good general pattern you would use. No offense meant with this question just trying to figure out if I have been hitting the wrong points.
