Stick with the spinning reel...they are superior to baitcasters. I love flipping with a spinning reel.

I would get a cheaper setup at first just to get used to it. No sense beating up on a nicer reel. But if you do it a nicer one spring the extra $30 and get a RevoSX.

Daiwa Tatula reels sell on Ebay for around $100. Its a great reel at that price.

Thanks MMartin, I'll check it out. And to answer Trickster...most of my success has been on jigs and T-rigged worms and frogs. Looking at the Lews Cabelas has on sale. From the suggestions here, will go there this evening to check it out further. Thanks everyone.

Best reel ever made is the old greenie Curado B You can find them for about 75-80 bucks
