So did you catch one or not?

Oh yes we caught them pretty regularly at the Air Force marina on Lake Medina. We would put out floating lights and caught them while fishing for hybrids at night. They would curl up into a big slimy ball around the line. About 2 foot long and grey as I recall.

But I looked it up and apparently they don't reproduce unless they make it all the way downstream to the Caribean. Something sexy about Puerto Ricans I guess.

Used to catch them a lot trotlining on the Red River way down in Louisiana. They would slime up the trotline for 3 or 4 feet on either side of the drops. We would just untie the staging and let'em go somewhere else...

Found a dead one in the Guadalupe river few years ago. Was about 2.5' long.
