Rod cast fine. We went to the pond and I test cast the rod with his sustain 3000 using a 1oz sinker. I could literally empty the whole spool of 20lb braid. IMHO, you need a bigger reel.

Lol man lee, your set up is the lightest thing for a surf rod that thing would be able to touch the wall with out all that running and effort I see at the wall... Now I really need a 4000 how the hell you empty out my spool? That was fun testing out the rod until the damn mosquito lit up my legs...

Just got back from DD. Fished all morning. Only managed three...18,22,24. No pros here. Just me. Caught everything on Zoom grubs...6 inches.

Nothing going on out there but a bunch of combat fishing. Got there yesterday night stayed till sun up. Didn't even get my lines wet. Just watched. No one catching anything but each other. I'm estimating over 150-200 people out there. I just watched and laughed. Good comedy show. Only spillway open. Shut generators off. Entire time. Seen one hook up then someone crossed his line and baam. Cut his line........ Screw that.

I got my limit this morning on the rocks. And decided to fish for fun afterwards.
