I have an issue with a trolling motor that I need help with. My trolling motor quit working the other day. I have 24 volt to the plug in the front of my boat. I replaced the plug on my trolling motor still don't work. I put another trolling motor on the boat and still don't work. Anyone got any siggestions. It is a motor guide hand controlled trolling motor.

Indicates that the issue is not the trolling motor. Put a voltage meter on the wires to verify your getting 24 volts. Check that the fuse between the batteries and trolling motor is not blown/tripped.

Are the batteries charged?

Batteries are good load test done and as stated above wires were checked to the plug and getting 24 volts.

Plug on motor wired wrong?

Maybe the plug on the boat itself is bad

Sounds like it's time for a new boat.

some where there's a break in you power,..you need to check from the battery's all the way to the handle switches.

I can put my meter on the plug in the boat and hit my big foot switch and I get 24 volts to the plug. Thought it might have been the trolling motor but hook another trolling motor up and it didn't work either.

Just a wild hunch. I would pull the plug in the boat and inspect the plug and wires. A meter won't pull any amps. Once you put it under a load, it breaks down. That would make me think plug or wires since another TM did the same exact thing.

Sometimes you can get a good voltage reading while not under a load, then when you apply a load it goes dead. Sounds like the connection at the batteries may need attention. To see if it's the motor itself, hook directly to a known good battery ( single ), it will spin with only 12v if it's ok. If motor if good, then check downstream from the motor for bad switches, connections, etc.
