If it's legal ain't no way in hell it's catch and release, it's CATCH & GREASE, except ROUGH (TRASH) Fish

"Gitter" and "Jagg": Good choices. One fish I have not tried is the Croaker. I have heard from other people who have eaten em and they all said they are fantastic.

Nice, do you eat the tail and fins? I remember my Dad cooking the fish like that, then my brother had us fileting everything.

Yes Sir I do eat the tails! Love em. I fillet all of my fish with the exception of the Sunfish. I scale em,gut em,and cut the heads off! I have friends who fillet em and it is amazing how they do it! Side Note: Thanks Curtis and "Karpbuster" for the replies. Curtis: Did you try that new fry mix?

Gotta be a great feeling to fish with your dad Jig and Jeep. I'm old school too. I throw a lot fish back, especially large bass that I feel are needed for breeding stock, but I surely do not hesitate to eat bass like some of the younger generation seems to think is a no no. Congrats to you and your dad. Wish I had a place where I could catch pan fish like you and your dad did. I'd be eating a lot more of them than bass.

Nothing like a mess of panfish fried to a golden brown!....Ummmm, ummmh! I primarily eat catfish, and in the spring I target the white bass/crappie, which I love even better. I used to be a die hard bass fisher in my younger days, and that was when limits were triple and double what they are now. I ate a lot of largemouth bass back in the day when you didn't get dirty looks at the cleaning table. If I'm in the mood for bass, and as often as I catch one now which is rare, mainly because I don't target them, they will end up in the frying pan. Eating bluegills, and taking your time picking the bones clean and eating the fins savoring the flavor is what it's all about, and like Chuck says, it doesn't get any better!
