2015 Toy crew cab 4x4 with nav and 5.7. Traded my 2012 eco boost (no complaints). 35k for a new Yota, or same truck in ford or chevy was 8-10k more. Go look at a F250/diesel and we are talking 20k more. Everyone talks about Fuel mileage why don't we first start off with the price of the car? A lot of fuel you can buy. And by the way, my Tundra fells like a grown man's truck compared to what I just traded in.

This thread is about towing, where did racing your tow vehicle come from? For those that want to race tow vehicles, are you going to race with or without your boat in tow? Let me know when yall are going to the track, I want to watch. LOL That should be fun to see. Torque wins races - Horsepower sells trucks Ecoboost puts down almost 400 ft-lbs of torque at 1700 RPMS and holds that all the way to 5000 RPMs I can think of another situation where a truck with these characteristics would come in handy....

They all have pros and cons...I bought a new 14' Tundra and loved the way it drove/pulled. What I couldn't get past is the fuel millage and the short bed. The Toyota beds are about a foot shorter than all others. If I had a money tree in the backyard I would have kept it as it was fun to drive. I decided to go back to a diesel. If you drive a diesel for long enough its just tough to go to a gas engine.

this is just about impossible, unless you have propane injection or some other type of "mods" i tune these vehicles and hop them up. the best ive seen is ~18mpg with a tune and exhaust and intake for the 2011 F350 6.7 diesel. and this is a special max fuel mileage tune that is not for towing or anything else... Friends 2015 6.7 f250 gets 16mpg highway. Other friends 6.4 f250 that's deleted and sct tuned can get 20mpg highway. driving easy. 2010 duramax upgraded fuel pump. deleted. h&s tuned can get 21 highway with me driving. 13mpg towing 21' legend. These are gas pump with calculator numbers. Never trust the dash mpg calculator. Please go to one of the Ford diesel forums. They can use a good laugh.

Design and vehicle. MIne is around 700 ft/lbs and I don't think it will pass any of the better half tons. It will beat most here in the mpg department.

Just a short note regarding fuel mileage: I have driven my '12 Tundra (5.7 2x4) to see my folks up in the panhandle 4 times in the past year. The first three times I set the cruise at 77-78 which is where I normally cruise going up 287. I averaged 16 to 17 mpg on those trips. This last time I set the cruise at 68 (just to see) and I was shocked at the difference it made. I got 18.8 mpg on the way up there and 19.4 on the way home (It's downhill all the way. ) So is it worth 30 minutes of extra driving to save $6 or $7 in gas? Probably not, but it was nice to see that mileage jump.

What is interesting about the poll is the high percentage of Toyota truck owners on this forum compared with the small percentage of national sales of Toyota trucks. I wonder if having the Tundra plant in San Antonio is biasing the poll. There are not a lot of owners of Toyota Trucks nationwide...but they sure seem to be vocal here on this forum.

I have Toyota(Non goverment bailout company) Tundra also. I love the way it pulls. Thank goodness it is coming out with a bigger tank next year.

Or maybe Toyota is so invested in bass fishing especially in teh state of Texas that more anglers have seen and been around them and bought one.
