So Texas side is out of the question? I can't walk over from ok side right I've never been to the ok side.... Sorry if dumb questions. Any help would be appreciated. If anyone needs lewisville questions answered I'd be happy to help. Do you think the main lake would be better? I oddly got Thursday off and I've been itching to catch a striper, and dang it I'm gonna try lol don't recommend lake side,...you have to drive over the dam to get back to Texas side,... prolly more fun fishing lures if you know how. Never been there myself, but u know fish are there, y just soak bait and hope the fish will find it? Y not go to the fish with lure, u cover more water this way... of course after DD fishing is over you can join me soaking them shad in water, it's my favorite fishing method, cast them out n sit back relax. ..
Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.

Main lake is super full and do not know if there is any access points for you to fish from. It's a different type of fishing on the DD, I grew up fishing it back in the day and Sunday was the first time I was out there on the wall throwing pencil poppers in 10 years. You just have to have common sense and etiquette fishing up there. I'll put pictures up after this post.

This is right in front of the parking area. Maybe 1st or 2nd stairs. I fished on the wall where the generators are.

Big strippers and cats being caught at west burns run in flooded trees... You don't have to fight the river...

If anyone needs a surf rod setup pm me. I have an extra one that i can get rid of. Hell I'll even throw in a Diawa Emblem 4500 with it loaded with 50pnd power pro. That setup has caught alloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooootttttttttttt of stripers. 11ft Lamiglas GSB 1322L model blank custom rod/fuji sic guides + diawa emblem 4500-x 50pnd pp braid. The blank alone retails for $225. PM me for details if you are interested for a good deal. Getting rid of this to upgrade to my secret weapon from Austrilia. Thanks still interested if available here..let me know.. thanks

Well, I dusted the cobwebs off my old 9' surf rod and made it to the dam. Stopped by Dave's to get some pencil poppers, bucktail jigs, and weighted corks. They were all out of the teardrop type corks so I ended up getting the thin ones. they are super nice and helpful. Fished 11-2 around stairs 3 on tx side. Maybe it's because I didn't know what the hell I was doing but I didn't catch a thing. But it wasn't like the guys who knew what they were doing were pulling fish after fish out either. I tried pencil poppers, jig and cork, and fished on the bottom with sinker and leader. But no luck. I guess I'll continue to read the reports and try again later.
Is the water always red when they are releasing? I don't remember the water being that staind in the 90s when I used to go.

It was a tough day today, high pressure & bluebird skies didn't help. fished both sides, saw some caught on the Tx rocks, went down to ck out shawnee ceek & it looked like the Amazon! the water coming out of the spillway is blasting all the way across the river channel to the north side, awesome! I didn't catch chit today, Wilson managed an 8# before I left at 4pm tough day, arm hurts, back thursday with a vengeance.....
