I have had a Jeep for over 20 years, I love my CJ
I bought a new 4 door wrangler in 2012, and it was the biggest piece of [censored] I have ever owned. The customer service from Chrysler was an absolute joke. I love jeeps but I had so many problems with that Jeep I couldn't get rid of it soon enough. And it was a bit of a struggle towing my Triton 186.
Traded it in for a 2014 Toyota Tundra, the big one. I love this truck, pulls the boat like it's not even back there and the customer service is amazing. Bumper to bumper coverage, 100k miles, LIFETIME power trane warranty from Toyota. I have yet to pay for an oil change and they have free assistance. Meaning if you get stuck anywhere in the continental US and they can find you, they send someone to help you. Stuck in the mud, run out of gas, have a blow out, whatever. As long as you have a cell Signal and they can find you, they are sending someone. No charge. It's part of the deal With Toyota.
I'm no salesman or have any affiliation with any of them, and like I said I have had a jeep forever and I love them but mine was a lemon, the dealership was trash ( Clay Cooley in Irving) and the Toyota experience has been amazing
I had a 2004, 4 door Tacoma that I had almost 200k miles on and never had an issue with it, I traded it in for that 2012 wrangler and that was a huge mistake.

My wife has a 2012 Wrangler. It has a 3" lift & 35" tires. Only way it's gonna get 15 mpg is going down hill, a really long hill.

I've got an ecodiesel and I'm convinced it's the perfect tow vehicle. 24 city, 28 hwy and 15 towing 21' bass boat. 240hp and 440 torque. Small displacement diesels are the future. Ford and Chevy need to get on board. I'm also convinced people don't know how to calculate fuel mileage. On second thought. Even my wife is screaming bs at my jeep comment. She said I "drink the cool ade"'too much on the jeep thing. Lol she says my jeep is a gas guzzling pig. Haha. It does get good mileage for a 4x4. And towing isn't bad at all. Maybe more like 15-16.

I havnt seen a jeep pull a boat at 75-85 either. I like the Eco diesel but can't justify the cost of a running a diesel. I thought about a dodge 2500 with 6.4 hemi. I'd be happy with 11mpg towing at 75

I get 12 mpg with my Dodge 1500 w/ 5.7L Hemi pulling a Ranger 519C. When I make a change it will be to the 1/2 ton diesel

Then when I was having so many issues they pulled the, you didn't buy it from us card. I said I bought the damn thing right here, some of the same vehicles are in the parking lot and it's a Chrysler product. It was the biggest pain in the [censored] and I hate everything about them now.

It was the biggest pain in the [censored] and I hate everything about them now. clay Cooley is the WORST chain of dealers in DFW! I deal work with dealers all the time in my line of work. The guy, clay Cooley, is about 5'2" tall. Little weasel. Lol. And his mgrs are are trained to screw everyone for every penny they can get. That said, I think we've talked about your jeep experience. I know the '12's were issue prone. I know exactly what was wrong with yours. I also know exactly what the string of "put offs" that Chrysler corp had dealerships being told to do....to buy time. The entire 2012 run of 3.6L Pentastar motors had cylinder heads on the driver's side that were cast incorrectly. This caused VERY rapid wear of lifter bores. Now imagine the several hundred thousand 2012 3.6 motors, that were used in everything from chargers, challengers, 300's, 200's, ram trucks, mini vans, Jeep SUV's, etc. all throwing P020 codes with in 5-10k miles from new. There was no way for dealerships to warranty everything in a timely manner. Wasn't happening. So, they just kissed off every owner of a 3.6 powered vehicle that was purchased in 2012. They would say,"computer reflash", "new lifters", "bad oil filter", whatever. Knowing that it had to at best case have a new cylinder head. I, knowing the dealerships from business, had a 2013 motor installed in mine right from the first "P020, cylinder 2 misfire". But, knowing what was going on behind the scenes, AND THAT YOU WERE DEALING WITH COOLEY!!!! You did the right thing. Trade it in. And bash jeep. Haha. It's what I did with my Ford Lightning and Doug Stanley. Lol The Toyota truck you have is really nice. A good friend of mine uses his to tow his matching Nitro. They are great trucks. I really like the little things on them. Like the adjustable headlights. Very cool feature for towing and launching a boat. You will like it. Hell, we have two other vehicles, Lexus, made by Toyota. Very well made vehicles and beyond dependable. They simply do not ever break.

Chevy all the way.
I retired from my business about 18 months ago and gave my 2001 Chevy 1500 4 WD to my son who took over the business. It now has 240,000 miles on it, has the original transmission and doesn't take oil.
Ran into a guy at the post office in Denison and he had a 2000 GMC Sierra with (not kidding) over 400,000 miles on it and had the original transmission. Would not have believed that unless I saw it for myself.
The other truck I would consider owning is a Toyota Tundra-have always heard nothing but good about them.
