the night bite sucks... the afternoon day time bite is the best.... caught nothing at night but the daytime i caught my limit and went home.... from now on I'm no longer going at night... just get my rest and wakeup and headout to denison... and catch in the daytime lol crazy how so many pile up to fish the corner of texas side when they are everywhere in the river lol yeah sucks when you are cramped up next to some uncivil people screaming feeeeeet onnnnn feeeeeeeet onnnnnnnn or freeeeonnnnnnnn (fish on) and they talk to each other in their duck talk telling each other to cut other peoples line. some of them out there are just animals

a friend caught a monster on top of the wall and he had to walk it down to the bottom. while doing so he got twisted up with another old gentleman's line and the old gentleman argued for a good few minutes trying to claim the fish as his while his line is still out in the water!!

Combat fishing at its finest... I stay away from the TX wall... I'll fight the rocks and trees to fish but I'm not going to battle noobs and meat soakers shoulder to shoulder..

Denison Dam easy fishing!! This for all the noobes like me!! I maxed out the 3 times I've been!!I jus stay away from all the pro's(I know some these DD pros' are gonna use this technique !).I fish to eat not for sport cuzz I dont' make alot of $.Take whatever gear u have put 3,4 or 5 oz. sinker on bottom, make 3 or 4 inch loop on ur line, put hook n curly tail grub on.Repeat every 8 inch apart, put on as many as u can cast with!!Gauranteed you wil catch!! I use 10' big cat pole from Cabela's with 30 lb. line,4 grubs,8 inch apart,2 white n 2 green staggered.Cast as far as u can n just reel in.So eazy can't believe no one wuzz doin it.Get the biggest grubbs u can find!!Make sure u have enough sinkers hooks n grubbsz! I jus stay around the parking lot, someone gets close to me I jus move I dont' wanna tangle no ones line,Fish are everyware in that river!!Good luck!!Please post if u catch with the technique.
Fish on!!!

i had to leave the wall today as an older gentleman got tangled with my line as he was reeling in his fish. i had to give my line some slack in case the line broke and accidentally allowing his fish to pop off. well when i gave him some slack his fish went under water again and some how came unhooked and he got very upset and threw a fit. he almost tried to blame me for it and i wanted to ask him if he wanted his @ss kicked over a 10 inch striper. i'm so embarrassed sometimes with my own people

anyways...the fish report from this evening was slow at the wall. i was there from 8-11pm and the total number of fish that i saw getting pulled up were roughly around 5 or 6 total for the entire wall. the crowd started to slowly leave around 10 and the action didn't seem too hot on the rocks from what i noticed.
generators were off during the time i was there.

So I'm guessing you can get their from the Texas side now? I haven't been out there in ten plus years when I was young. Back then my dad used a surf rod with 3-4oz weight on a tri swivel with a leader. Would this set up still be adequate? I haven't been since I really started fishing as an adult. Any advice would be appreciated. Thinking of trying Thursday morning. Also is there anywhere I can buy shad or is a cast net my best bet?

Good deal thanks! Just wondering it's not a short drive for me so I'd like to be prepared.

Also is there anywhere I can buy shad or is a cast net my best bet? you have to use the oklahoma side entrance to get in since the texas side is still closed due to high water. your setup should work but good luck trying to fish that wall.

So Texas side is out of the question? I can't walk over from ok side right I've never been to the ok side.... Sorry if dumb questions. Any help would be appreciated. If anyone needs lewisville questions answered I'd be happy to help. Do you think the main lake would be better? I oddly got Thursday off and I've been itching to catch a striper, and dang it I'm gonna try lol
