141K CFS as of 1600 and it is still rising.

That is over 63 million gallons per minute.

You can only fish on the actual Lake with a Texoma license, but you can fish anywhere on the lake with it. You cannot fish below the dm with it. You must purchase either a resident Texas license for 30.00. It will only work as far down river as Shawnee Creek. Which I am betting is futher than you will want to walk. I have ben out there the last 3 straight days. Even during the busiest times there is plenty of room to spread out and fish. However the most fish seem to be caught the closer you get to the dam.

I used a baitcast rod n reel to fish. It worked well enough, but now I have an excuse to buy a couple of surf rods and reels.

Everyone is catching fish, it is much better in the mornings.

If anyone needs a surf rod setup pm me. I have an extra one that i can get rid of. Hell I'll even throw in a Diawa Emblem 4500 with it loaded with 50pnd power pro. That setup has caught alloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooootttttttttttt of stripers.

11ft Lamiglas GSB 1322L model blank custom rod/fuji sic guides + diawa emblem 4500-x 50pnd pp braid. The blank alone retails for $225.

PM me for details if you are interested for a good deal. Getting rid of this to upgrade to my secret weapon from Austrilia.

Thanks

Just Remember. I know it is way too swift right now to Wade but the first stretch below the dam when it goes down if your toes are in the water you are fishing Oklahoma even if you were on the Texas side! And they do in force it. I fly fish in Oklahoma so don't have to worry about that I already have the license. That is one of the very few places that one state owns all the water at a border river it has to do with power generation. I saw a guy on the Texas side get a ticket in 07 that was not even up to his ankles in the river yet but he only had a Texas license and they gave him a ticket. Should be great for a long time to come when it goes down. As long as the water going over the spillway does not flush them all out into the gulf again. After reading up on it from my buddy telling me they were catching them in the bay is for quite a while and 07. I also found out Texas actually used to have a run of stripers from the ocean maybe with all this added stocking they can rebound commercial fishing killed it in the past.

It's better if you could cast up and pass the strong current then retrieve cross it. You might catch some by the bank but best fish are at that strong current.

Okay, heres my plan.Too many people fishing river. So im gunna fish on lake with a giant blue fin equipment. Reel that holds 2000 yds of 20 lb test.Let it out at intake at dam let line out until a big striper eats it in river then reel it back in through hole in dam. Question is would it still be a lake fish or river fish if a record?

If your casting out you need a float of some kind to keep your bait out of rocks. If in boat no float needed.

I just cant bring myself to take the boat. No experience with this and it seems pretty dangerous. Maybe wait till it calms down

Sorry about that. The license used to state on it that it is NOT good below the dam.

Now west of the dam it is good all over the lake including the Red River to the bridge in Gainesville and to Ft. Washita on the Washita River in Oklahoma.
