Need help guys. Just bought a Lowrance Elite 7 chirp with GPS, down imaging, and sonar. I'm needing advice on where to mount the transducer. I have a 1993 stratos 285 pro xl an if anybody knows this boat you have your flat part of your transom where the motor mounts to and then you have a drop down that has your aerator pump holes and then it drops down again and that's where your plug goes. I'm needing to know the correct location to mount the transducer cause I only wanna drill once. Thanks for any info and help on this it's much appreciated!

If you want depth readings when on plane, the transducer has to be just below the BOTTOM of the hull.

has anyone had issues since the new update on the HDS Touch version 4.0?
For some reason my HDS 12 is working fine but my HDS 9 Touch is not showing the structure scan unless its networked to the 12.
I was going to separate the two to have one unit up at Bow showing downscan and sonar at he TM but I have networking issues I guess.
I am going to network them again via nmea 2000 and see if this helps, otherwise I will call Lowrance and see what they can help me with.
any help will be appreciated!

I just updated the software on my lowrance hds 7 touch. The unit is now has big delays during all functions. For example, during structure scan the graph will freeze and then start graphing 5 mins later. The Basically stops and starts. The Fishfinder has stopped working all together.
It there a way to reset everything back to the original software version? Are all versions of the software available?

Lowrance SB-9BL transducer switch - I've read elsewhere that you cannot get the downscan signal through this switch, basically it only allows the 2D sonar signals through to the display.
Can anyone confirm/refute this? Looking to add an HDI transducer on the transom, using that when trolling and the hull mounted on plane. Elete 7 HDI unit.

Originally it was said that it would NOT work but apparently they were false rumors. So YES it will work with the HDI.

I have an Elite 5 HDI and the question is. If plugging in a external antenna, is it plug and play or do I need to do something special to use it? Anyone?
Thank you
