We should get some of the Kayakers to go. They could Go-Pro a spillway run.

I also put these in another Texoma flooding thread, vids are in the vid section. It was a really interesting experience. We got there ~6:20 & left about 8:15. There was already a bit of a crowd when we arrived & it was starting to get silly crowded by the time we left.







That's one guy you can only see his head out of the water. I thought he was toast.

well it's kinda historic the lake has only been over the spillway 4 times in its history.

It pretty safe to there, very low current, near the bank.

We used to fish it years ago and when you got hot from throwing surf rods you can go there and the water is nice and cool in the warmer months when they are releasing water.....

I do wonder if the road has been washed away again like it was in 1990. I suspect it is gone this time especially looking at the condition of the asphalt in auminer's photo. I do not believe water even covered the road in 2007.

Our local TV station pulled their crew from the spillway due to severe weather predicted today. I am glad they did. There were two funnels spotted in Sherman. Both passed over the TV's building in Sherman plus they had straight line winds. We did not get the wind in Denison (thank God). They had straight line winds in Pottsboro too. Our 70 tree is still resting in the same place and hopefully we will not have severe weather again until after the tree guy comes Wednesday.

That's a great view, AM. Lotta water and scary, but good job flying that thing.

Thanks. They're tougher to fly than I thought they would be. What I wish is I had been able to video me getting kicked off the spillway overlook for trying to fly it over the spillway. The COE "rangers" swarmed me like some loss prevention specialists from Dillard's.

That is some cool footage of water going over the spillway, flowing over 91, and water gushing from the floodgates. It appears highway 91 may be holding up in spite of water rushing below and over the road.*

I am a little surprised they gave you a rough time regarding your drone. I understand why they have to check the drones out, but there have been a couple of other guys who were flying a drone every day to document Texoma rising and going over the spillway.

*Whoa, it is gone now. They just showed on the news hwy 91 is gone now. Maybe they will build a bridge over it this time like they should have the last time it washed out.
