It's not going to end well. More big rains heading for the Hill Country.

I hear ya Jimbo...my 3rd DD made me smile as big as my first!
Seriously though...that water is rising way too fast for comfort...I noticed that they aren't letting water out of Canyon either, is that because of the draw down on Dunlap to fix that dam?

I think it is because there is too much water pouring down the guadalupe without needing anything from Canyon. It is out of its banks downriver. More water from Canyon would exacerbate the situation.

from my understanding, the dam on dunlap has been worked on and is back to normal.

from my understanding, the dam on dunlap has been worked on and is back to normal. There was a lot of finger pointing when Canyon went over the spillway back in 02 and although nobody was blamed for the flooding below the dam I'm sure some folks caught some heat. Whoever is controlling the dams from Canyon on downstream has to be having some restless nights. The Guad can get pretty angry upstream in the watershed as we've seen in the past.

Its + 14.5 ft now. I hear when it hits +30 then over the spillway it goes and everyone down river gets flooded.

The Corps told downstream managers and GBRA that a decision to open gates at Canyon would be made tomorrow at 1:00 pm. That will give the river a chance to drain down some. Here at Gonzales, highway 183 is closed south of town and the flood waters are about a foot from flooding homes.

The river flow at Spring Branch above the lake is flowing at 5,670 cfs. which is a pretty stout amount of water coming in so 14.5 feet wouldn't be out of the question at that rate.

I just drove out to the river in Gonzales and the water is dropping nicely. I would guess the Corps will start letting water out of Canyon tomorrow.

Canyon shows only .07 since yesterday so either the flow is slowing on the upper end or they have started to open the gates a bit. That's good news for those below.
Spring Branch river flow is 3,510 cfs. so it's down from yesterday at over 5,600 cfs. Guadalupe at Sattler below the dam shows 221 cfs.
