I was maybe going to go. Now I'm not sure but still might make the drive if it doesn't rain much. Definite maybe.

I would give them a chance to do the right thing before criticizing them. Lots of decisions going on up there. The weather made it impossible to park more than a few hundred vehicles. They got blasted yesterday morning and the prior evening. They had no choice but to cancel.

I am gonna say it definitely falls back onto the organizers to find a solution. I am not worried about losing the money I paid for ours as I consider it a donation to TP&W but there are plenty of people that are out serious money and I hope they find a way to make it up to them.

To me there are no excuses for not being prepared. They knew what the weather was gonna be like and the rain was not big a secret. Granted it would have been a pain to move the expo and shows but you would think they would have found a backup location for it considering the way the weather has been.

This is not bashing them, second guessing them or thinking I can do it better. Just saying I wish they had been better prepared.

I am like Mark it is very poor planning,,, Take for instance at the Bassmaster Classic they were ready for most anything,, beside boats being Frozen to trailers , which they had a lot of people working on and helping to get broke loose.. They had Frozen ramps,, Frozen sidewalks,, snow all over,, Heck the Porter Johns were even froze door shut,, but they had people up hours ahead working on ramps and sidewalks etc etc .. Just have to plan ahead for a event this Big and have back up plans..

There are no winners in a situation like this. When you have an outdoor venue, you are at the mercy of the elements. Not to mention, it is not our venue. If you haul in base for roads and parking, you have to then haul it out. There is no way to do that without just destroying this place. This is the SRA headquarters and not an events center. I am from San Marcos so I am putting things in perspective. I have friends in my Bass club without a home to live in right now.

But that is part of hosting an event that has to be considered. That can't be the excuse to those who have supported the events by buying the tickets and such. Hopefully they find a way to at least acknowledge and try to make right those that are more heavily invested in this. You are right there are no winnners in this but the fact remains the TTBC chose the venue and the dates. with the people involved that organize it I have confidence they will do everything they can to make things as good as they can for the ones that are out the tickets.

Sorry to hear about your friends. The flooding has affected many here and in other states. We need the rain just hope we keep getting it without the flooding.

If you paid with a credit card you can dispute the charges due to not receiving the end product. You have protection and they will just reverse the charges.

The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

You have to be kidding me about needing more rain. Do you realize how many people's income have been effected by all this water? You can't be serious. It's a fishing event and this morning people are missing and without a home. They are doing the right thing and before giving them a chance people bash them. I don't understand the logic especially from a public servant.
