Just how bad do you think this will be?

I have the boat at the ready, never launched in a driveway before.

river would have to come way way up to get to here but with all the water around me now it just could happen.

I have no idea right now how much rain has fallen above texoma but it has been a bunch and this may be a 500 yr flood if things keep up.

640.26. Man that was a lot of rain. Stupid cellphone woke me and the dog up.

It is going over real good. More than it did in 2007. Right now they are predicting it may crest at 642.6. We will see. They do report how much rain has fallen at the dam. It has received over 3" since 1:00 am. It just started just pouring down again.

Hop brings us back pictures and I hope it does not get ten miles wide like it did in 1990. It will take several days for what is coming over the spillway in addition to the release to get there. They are releasing 45K cfs. The total flow below the dam right now is a little over 62K.

Those going out from Texas are probably going to have stay on 75 to Colbert, go across West at the Colbert exit which takes you to Cartwright, you will see the big Y of the road that goes across the dam, and go across the dam to the spillway. I am not going to try to go out there until Tuesday. It is something historic to see.

TB I need to figure how many miles I am below the dam, with all the runoff from the rain we have had the river should be way up here.

Are you east or west of Boisdarc creek?

no clue, have never looked that close at the river on a map.

I am a mile south of the riverby curve, where 100 turns into 79 to paris. if that helps.

I almost think the cfs at Courtney, OK had to be an entry mistake. At 5 and 6 they recorded Red River flow at over 200K cfs, but at 7 it is down to 50K. I suspect those two entries are wrong.

Hop, where are you in relation to DeKalb and Authur City? You can keep track of how the surge makes it way down river here.

Lower Red River

Your west of where the Boggy comes in on the okie side and just west of the boisdarc. I don't think you guys have anything to worry about as far as the red is concerned. TB he is about 10 miles west of the Arthur City guage.

I am in far N.E. fannin county, the river makes a high spot on the map and I am right below the crest of it.

can't get a map with dekalb, arthur city is ne of me about 6-7 miles I think, might be less.

Downstream it appears Pat Mayse could easily go over its spillway too.

To put the numbers in perspective, at the end of April, Texoma was 2,521,522 acre feet. Today just 25 days later it is 5,037,455 acre feet. That is almost double and more water is coming than what they can release.

TB on your lower red map I am right where the blue comes in, just south of the high spot about 2.5 miles to the lodge I think.
