What does that mean for fishing if they aren't generating?
Doug, camo hat with velcro patches, ugly stik gear bag.

Sit, watch and enjoy a laugh or two. I only fish baitcasting reels, so you could imagine the mess I would make out there with a heavy weighted bobber on a 7 foot rod. I even had a few bobbers sail all the way to the other side after I snapped my line with major backlash.
I had as much luck the first few times fishing here as I had fishing the Port A jetties.
Cast Snag Snap Repeat!! Repeat!! Repeat!!

surf rods and reels work the best. You are armed and dangerous.

surf rods and reels work the best. 3 hours worth of tackle.

Thanks for the pics, and the explanations. May have to drive up just for the fun of it and watch on Sunday or Monday. I hope you guys get them and post some reports with pics or videos ... Good Luck.

I remember 08 it was the best times we had. Even when they werent generating till 4pm the fish would stay on the third hole We used shad and caught them all day long from 2lb-15lb fish.
fishing is one thing. catching is another

What are the differences in how the dam is open between mid 90's and when it was open sometime around 06ish? I remember going as a kid in the mid 90's and you could cast out on the Tx side with a weight, hook, and whole perch and it would stay in place for like 5 min before going down stream. Just long enough for a bite. Then when I went sometime after I got out of high school you would cast out and it would just go down stream right away.

When they are releasing on OK side it swirls back on Tx side keeping live bait in the zone longer. When generating bait gets into downstream current directly. Its on Texas side.
Keep em tight!

I'm planning to take my family here fishing today or this weekend. Can we just go anytime or they only open at the certain hours?
