Holy Moly! Pretty soon this is going to be similar to the early 90's (spring 92's if I recalled) when all those fish are going to be falling over and to the overflow retaining pond and going to be kill again.

I was wondering about that. With the lake and all the creeks overflowing like this it seems inevitable that some fish will die off due to getting cut off from the main lake when the water recedes.
Though, I'm sure this flooding is good for the long term health of the fish population.

To lower Lake Somerville it takes about a week per foot if they open the gates fully. If it stops raining right now it will take 20 weeks to get the lake back to normal level. We are in for a very interesting summer...

Anyone know what level any boat ramp will open back up?
It's at 18.2' high now.

The COE closed most every ramp at the 7 foot high mark of (245) but will discourage anyone from boating the lake under high water conditions. The debris that is being swept into the lake is going to be tremendous and present a hazard for watercraft for a long while after the flood water recedes..

Maybe so on some game fish, but the alligator gar situation will go on! was there about month before all this rain started and fishing out past nails creek one pm til about midnight and 4 large gar came up to our jon boat just to check us out, one was over 5' long, start to get him with the .357, didn't think park bunch at nails would like that!
When all others are gone they will survive!
Teach a child to fish, and you get them hooked for life! then the memories begin!

There won't be many fish that get trapped in pools as the water recedes after going this high. It is likely to take the rest of the year to bring it back down and it will be a very slow draw down. Fish get trapped when the lake jumps up but recedes quickly..
