UPDATE*** US ARMY CORPS of ENGINEERS LAKE TEXOMA FORECAST AS OF 5/13/2015: Current elevation of Lake Texoma at 0950 hrs is 628.17. Projected elevation of the lake is expected to reach 632.2' by Monday, 18 May 15. This projection is without any hydropower generation and with no more precipitation as of Tuesday, 12 May 15. There is no plan for generation or opening of the floodgates at this time due to downstream flooding. To monitor current conditions of the lake, you may visit http://www.swt-wc.usace.army.mil/DENI.lakepage.htmlTo monitor current conditions of the Red River basin, you may visit http://www.srh.noaa.gov/abrfc/We will provide additional updates as they occur.

thx Sand Bass, moomriver, Uncle B. it's a 11.5 lamiglas. will used for mostly top water lures.

Those are cool setups. I've got to get me something like those.
I've been throwing Pencil Poppers and Rogers Hawg Sticks on an old 10-foot Predator match rod with a clunky old 1980s spinning reel. I'm getting too old for that combo--it just about wears me out in no time.

yes sir,, lighter rod and reel make a different. specially when popping those pencil.

yes sir, I use mostly lamiglas and stcroix blanks, with Fuji K guides. ranging from 9' thru 11.5'.

Adding bucktail may cut down your casting distance, without adding extra weight.

I don't want to hit the wall. they already weight 2.8oz already buck tail or no buck tail, no different to me. they all fly same distance.

We always added bucktails to pencil poppers. The fish really seem to like the bucktails. Like them even more with a streak of red in them like a bleeding shad.
