Placed an order to Walmart for a Classic Accessions Cumberland FloatTube. Price at Cabela's is $249.99. At Walmart it was about $183, no shipping cost. Can return to any Walmart store within 90days after delivered to me. Cumberland tube has great reviews.

Thanks Action Jackson. Good luck catching crappies. They are great for the frying pan.

Congrats, good pick- the load capacity and seating above water level is a definite advantage! Plus the easy return if you don't like it, or if float tubes turn out not to be your style. You might consider a foam pole float, to prevent loss should you lose your rod overboard. Upright pole holders are also nice if you will carry more than one pole.

Thanks for the reply porta. I plan to go to Cabela's tomorrow to look for chest waders, a hand pump, and some foam floaters for the rods I'll be using. I can be clumsy and probably drop one in the lake at some point. My buddy has some flippers and wading shoes he offered to loan me, so this should have me ready to go.

I don't use waders during the warm months. It becomes very uncomfortable for me and way too hot. Give it a shot and see what you think

It is hard to beat the Fish Cat 4 tubes. They are a little heavier, but the coating on the bottom protects the tube from rocks and stick ups. It moves very well on the water and is comfortable for long hours in the water. It is like fishing from a lounge chair in the water.

The Fish Cat series are very good quality tubes, and the deluxe version is very comfortable. They are not necessarily the best for everyone, because of considerations listed on the previous page. They wouldn't pack down as small as some others, and would be heavier than necessary for medium/distant hikes and launch, as an example. There also other trade offs such as being beyond the price range of some users, oar propulsion capability, and other considerations, etc.

I got the Accessions Cumberland FloatTube off Amazon earlier this summer and love it. Would highly recommend. At $180ish I think its the best bang for your buck.
