No water! They didn't release the water for a long time now.

drove over the top last weekend on the way to east burns (aug 30th weekend). smell was like eggs and water was milky. no one was fishing and water is super shallow. I can tell no water has been released because the islands have super tall weeds growing on them. pass for me.

Okay guys, we all need to pray for rain so Texoma will fill up enough for them to open the floodgates this spring. No fresh water being pumped into the Red River has been very hard on us who love to fish below the dam.

Not generating yet but the lake is above the normal lake level for this time of year of 617. It is actually 617.15. It has been so low for so long we are doing a happy dance it is up to normal. It needs to get up around 621 or so and maybe, just maybe they will open the floodgates and wash all the trees away that are growing in the riverbed.
Rain is in the forecast for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. We need the panhandle around Palo Duro Canyon, Childress, Wichita Falls, Pauls Valley, and other areas in the lower Red River basin area to get enough rain where water will run into Red and Washita River in Okalhoma. Those waters will eventually drain into Texoma.
Okay, regular elevation of the river below the dam is 4.whatever. I believe it rises to 10.whatever when the generators are running.
You can check the hydropower data page, but many times that page is wrong but the elevation data below the dam is pretty much updated hourly.
Do you rain dance!

Wow I'd like to see the structure Three weeks ago you could walk all the way across it and not get your feet wet. Small trees are growing in high spots and weeds galore abound everywhere. It is a very sad sight.

They usually won't generate until they need the power, Especially hot summer days when everybody is running their AC. Not sure how that applies when the lake is above pool.
