Anyone here make or use hoopnets, wire nets, or wooden traps?
What is your preferred bait, and what types of locations do you like?
Which of those traps do you like the most?
Im just trying to get a discussion about them going..
If you can either quickly or quietly switch out shells, you can bring home almost anything.

They are illegal in Texas. +1 We don't use fish traps in Texas, cause they're illegal here. Don't know if they're legal in your state.

Dang, that's no good. I'm in Louisiana, and they're legal here. I didn't know they weren't legal in Texas. I'm brand new to the forum, guess I should have posted in the Louisiana forum. The main reason I didn't is when I checked out the Louisiana forums, there didn't seem to be near the amount of postings.....

Nothing is illegal in Louisiana or Oklahoma. Especially if you don't get caught.
From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."
Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

Here we go. My way is better!! My dad can beat up your dad...
If a lot of you guys spent half of your "worry about everybody else" time, actually fishing, y'all would spend a lot of time on the water....
No I don't trot line or jug line but these, make everything I don't like illegal, threads are played out and almost ridiculous.
Just trying to keep track here, so we've got a list: no trotlines, juglines, limb lines, no hand fishing, every lake needs slot limit, no fish over 20lbs can be kept..ever. Did I miss any?

There are so many holier than thou on this website that have never enjoyed the joys of fishing. All they know is what they like and everything else is dirty and border line illegal.
