I imagine you would get in a lot less trouble from embedding a treble hook in a wakeboarder's leg than you would if you got caught shining a laser in a boat operator's eyes

Either way you run the risk of getting your [censored] whooped, and honestly most wakeboarders are probably in a lot better shape than most bass fishermen

I'm late to the discussion, but IMHO it's better to just pack up a move one than to throw anything at an impolite boater of any kind. You risk an escalated retaliation from them and you're really lowering yourself to their level. Call a game warden or police and report unsafe boaters with their registration number and live to fish again. Life is too short.

True stories.. My 17 yr old son was following me on my jet ski and got a ticket for following right behind me on lake Ouchita AR.
On Ray Hubbard fishing near the dam when four large speed boats used me as a bouy to make there turn nearly swamping my 18 triton. I was holding on with one hand giving finger with other. I followed them to the marina where they all started apologizing. I was pissed. I yelled WTF are you thinking. The girls started calming me down as they were the finest bikini clad chicks I have ever seen.. Im a easy going guy but that didi it. And the biggest bunch of puss geeks ever and had no clue.

It's probably illegal and should be because of the dangers of shining a laser pointer at people. It's a federal crime to do it to aircraft and I think someone associated with MLB (announcer, maybe?) lost his eye site from someone shining a laser at him.

Whoa........hadn't heard that. Dang, don't want to blind or hurt anyone. But thought of it as a method of just getting someones attention... you know, "Hey, I'm over here!"
Just flashing it.... but, guess if it will blind someone, a really bad idea.
Lesson learned - guess it's bad to having a rod and reel rigged with a really heavy spoon jig and treble hook.. . I remember when I was little and went fishing with my mom and dad. Boy my Mom was accurate with that thing. She nailed some skier who wouldn't quit 'buzzing' her while she was fishing from the bank.

Pick up one of those really loud air horns, point it directly at the driver when they are close, and push the button. That ought to get their attention.

wasnt there a guy on grapevine or lewisville that paintballed on a couple years back, got in trouble for it.
