Myself,Mike "USMC-GY",Bob "Bob Landry" and Mutt "OLHIPI" met up at Lake Dunlap for our annual get together. Last year we fished Lake Mcqueeney and had a good trip. We fished Dunlap from 9am till 2:30pm and the bite was good. We caught a bunch of nice Redear,Bluegill,and Redbreast. Fish were in the 7 to 9 inch range and all of em were healthy and fat. We also caught a few nice bass in the one to two pound range. One of the highlights of the trip was when Mutt nailed a nice Warmouth. The fish was only 8" in length but had an 8"girth. The fish was super fat! The current Dunlap Warmouth record is .50 Lbs and Mutt's fish stood a good chance to break the current record. We caught over 75 fish and kept a bunch for fish fries. Fish were caught using worms with bottom techniques,drop shot techniques,and float techniques. Fish were all located in shallow water 3 to 5 feet deep. The water was stained with good current. After the trip Mutt's fish was weighed on a certified scale at a Texas Parks&Wildlife Weigh Station. The official weight of the fish was .62 Lbs good enough for the pending Lake Dunlap Warmouth Record. The fish was cleaned and it's stomach was completely full of small snails. Fishing with some super friends and Mutt's pending Warmouth Record. It just don't get any better!

Let me be the first to CONGRATULATE Mutt on his pending Dunlap record Warmouth. Awesome Fish!






Side Note: It should be noted that Mutt predicted that he was going to catch a Dunlap Record Fish this trip. Guess he was right.

We have seen small snails in a bunch of fish that we have cleaned over the years that we have caught on Dunlap. "AJ": Mutt should easily get the record. All he needs to do is send in the paper work to Parks&Wildlife for their review.
