That's beyond awesome. The big bass are REALLY starting to bite out there. I had a buddy catch TWO bass over 10lbs on a trot line fishing for catfish. He released them both, only even took a picture of one. I told him he should have had the weights certified and he just laughed at me, he hates catching them. He was nice enough to tell me he was fishing at the mouth of the Concho, back in the stickups, in less than 4 FOW. He said go clean out the bass for him so he can catch his flatheads. . .lol.

She weighed 10.35, Mr Buford has been coming to Ivie for a loooooong time. He does love to fish and you won`t meet a better guy  He's one of the best men I know. I used to sit with him and catch crappie off the dock at your place back in the day right after the lake filled up. We'd camp out in tents and fish our hearts out. Thanks for taking care of him while he was there Jerry!

Congratulations to your Grandfather. Now I want you to drop whatever it is that is keeping you from spending time with him and get it done. Just think about all the knowledge you are going to miss out on when he passes. Knowledge of not just fishing but everything else in his life time that he has experienced and can help you with. You probably could write a book. HA... Good for you, Don! This is the best advice I've read on TFF in a very long time. Each of us should cherish every minute that we spend with our older relatives.....and other old people, as well. Now go out and catch some bass with him.

Nice!!! the look on his face says it all!! my grandfather was the same way. He gave me hell when I took up bass fishing and about lost it one day when I told him I didn't keep any of the bass in the pictures I showed him! I miss him everyday. coming up on two years since he left for the big lake in the sky. Again, tell him congrats!

the really old guys ate the fish they caught.
I don't think it hurt the fishing at all.
ever since we have gone to catch and release all we can say is,,,, I sure wish it was like it was in the old days.
do you think when they set slot limits they expected every fish to go back in the lake, slot or not ?
But,,,, that is not what this thread is about.
Enjoy some time with your Grandpa,,,,,,he and you deserve it !!!!
