Almost any fishing on TB is great, with the EVERY possibility of catching a 10lb plus all over the lake.
But, right now, the lake being some 2' above full pool level, and the water clarity is not the best possible, it's a little tough.
Try using a Carolina rig, 1'oz weight, 2' leader and a small creature bait (your choice). They seemed to like the darker watermelon color.
Fish is S-L-O-W !!
Remember, any 10lb fish and you get a free replica of your catch!!
Good luck...
Go by Fin n' Feather, have a beer, lunch, or just a break....you'll be glad you did
God Bless

I am prejudiced now. I have the long held belief seeing all the 'Pro's' fish TB back in the late 60's and early 70's it is and was one of America's 'premier' fishing lakes.
My recent trip there only re-enforced that belief.
The lake is beautiful and holds literally tons of huge black bass.
The bite seems to be on one day and off the next but, bear in mind I have only got to fish it once and it's now still some two feet over full pool.
I have talked to guides and very experienced fishermen there during my visit, they were not there for nothing....LOL.
It is well worth the trip ANYTIME you can take the time to go. Now is still, post spawn a great time to go.
Yes, go. You will have a ball.......
God Bless

Had good luck fishing a green/white lam Senko on 8# in 8-12' FOW. Find the hay grass back off and pick it apart

Not very good actually. 1st place had 25lbs. My dad and uncle got 7th with 11lbs. Not on par for as good as they usually do.

25lbs is tough to beat on post spawn conditions.

Toledo is no where near 2 foot over pool right now its right at full pool. Need to fish 10-15 foot to be honest I think the night bite is better with the moon. You can catch them really anywhere we caught them up shallow and out in 20-25. C-rig is good had our best luck with a Senko on it either in Perch color or watermelon red with it tipped in chartreuse as well as the fluke. Spinnerbait was good also chartreuse and white. But that can all change from day to day.

There are no fish on Toledo Bend. These guys are all yanking your chain. Go to lake Fork if you want to catch fish.

I stayed at my lake house on Toledo Bend for the last two weeks and had a great trip. This is what I found- The shallow bite was verrry good if you were on the very south end of the lake, specifically Indian and Mill creek. The fish were three quarters of the way out of the back of the main cove and were in the hay grass. I punched the deeper edges of this with 1 ounce jigs and punch rigs and caught several in the 7-8 pound range using this tactic. I fished the main lake ridges but for me that was a dink fest I had no problem catching them but the better ones were in the hay grass. The frog bite was non-exsistant. I also found several bedding pairs still the biggest being about 5 pounds. I fished up at 1215 a couple of days and caught some good ones off of those willows out in the middle of the lake. What I did not find was a senko bite or the wacky worm stuff. That is not typically the way I fish though. The crappie are being absolutely wore out on minnows under the bridges over the creeks at night under lanterns. I hope this report actually helps you catch-em instead of the usual shad or crawfish spawn bs that typically is posted. They are really killing the heavy grass set-up in the haygrass.
