Nothing against the others here but Lunker Lure is a tried and true fish catcher for me.
Buy a 1/2 oz and hold it out the window of your car while driving to the lake. They use a heavier gauge aluminum blade than most. As the hole begins to take an egg shape where the blade is rotating on the wire, it begins to squeak and rattle.
They catch fish the best right before the rivet wears through and the bait is unusable. Ask the guys that do it for a living and 8 outta 10 will tell ya the same. have heard of guys zip tieing 4 on their antenna of the truck and drive down the road so they will get broke in... When I was probably 11 or 12, my Dad and his fishing buddy would take me to fork. I remember him hooking a few buzzbaits to the antenna of his truck. Said it would help them squeal when we fished them. Thanks for bringing this up, brings back some good memories.

You will loose the blade in nothing flat. That kind of wind will burn it up fast. It has to be the one with the rivet on the upper arm that the blade turns against. I would do it one mile at a time then check the wear on the bait. I have left many blades on the side of the road.
This is the best buzz bait ever made. The name is Hydrilla Gorilla. It was made for the grass on Lake Amistad back in the day. The blade ticks the flat lead head and is also screeching at the same time. You will have to search on Ebay to find them now. I am down to two and saver them for when the time is right.

Push the blade flush to the rivet. Take your needle nose and flatten them together. This will speed up the process of the screeching sound.

Megastrike Cavitron. Quality components and a nice shrieking sound. I have used several brands, but this is my favorite. Like the 1/4 oz. size in calm water.
In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

I crimp the shank of the rivet to the wire so it will not spin, then make sure the back edge of the blade is straight against the head of the rivet like someone mentioned earlier and then I hold it out the window until it squeaks.

Boogerman you can change the sound on them. Make the blade hit the head or make it sound like a normal buzz bait. Comes in a lot of different colors and blade combinations. +1000 These are all I throw anymore! I have a few that are so wore out I can't make them clack anymore but they still work and bass absolutely hate them!! They will come out of nowhere to smash a boogerman.
