Thats like asking what cranking rod do you prefer. It really depends on the individual and type of frog fishing. 7'3 is probably best all around length So you use different length rods depending on what frog you are throwing? Can you explain with details? All the hollow bodied frogs I throw are very similar in size and weight as are the solid bodied frogs with the kicker legs. The crank baits that I throw vary in size quite a bit from a 1.5 square bill to a 10XD. The rod I use for the 1.5 would never be able to handle a 10XD. I didn't realize it varies that much throwing a top water frog. Are you going to explain what rod you need depending on what frog you are throwing like you said in your response?

7foot, 3 and 9/16th inches EXACTLY.............. and only in pistol grip with a cork handle or you will never catch a fish. Who makes that rod? I will do it for $500. If you pay in cash, it's only $499. Have you started on the rod yet?

for me it depends on the cover and the type of casts needed for it. ie, 7ft pitchin tight cover vs 8 ft working expansive grass mats.

Depends on cover. Pitching shallow grass and mod heavy grass/pads 7'2"-7'4"H long cast heavy pads or grass mats 7'6"XH especially when tossing a 1oz frog
