Thanks "Data Hawk" and Wade for the replies. As already been said. Those Bluegill are hard to beat. Especially with a COLD BEER!

Banker, do you think the flavor is better when they are cooked whole rather than filleted? My wife says the flavor is better when they are cooked whole.

Wow, I'm salivating. I'm going to have to go in the kitchen to dig around in the fridge.

How do u clean and prepare em? Thanks guys for the replies. "Fish'till I drop": Can't really tell the difference in the taste either filleted or whole. I usually eat most of my Gills whole. (Scale, gut, and cut the heads off). The meat comes off of the bones easily and they are pretty easy to eat. "Daleche21": I scale, gut, and cut the heads off. I have friends of mine who fillet em. Either way the are simply delicacies.

How do u clean and prepare em? It's a video on here with a lady showing how to do everything from cleaning to cooking em! (It's on youtube "under sexy lady gutting fish") A tip for gutting your fish is to cut the head half way down, then jus pull off the head away from the body and ALL the insides will come out attached with the head! That way you dont have to dig all in there to clean it! You'll just have to break the lil membrane behind the stomach area but it's much more easier to do IMHO!!!
Katchin krappie...doin surgeries(filleting)...and givin hott grease baths until krunchy and golden brown is what it's all about!!!

Looking good. And just like many a meal we had when I was a teen living on a lake in East Texas in the '80's.
We used to take catfish skinning pliers, and pull out the dorsal fins, then clamp onto the skin with the pliers and pull the skin off so we wouldn't have to scale them. Made cleaning pretty fast.
Probably sat down to a hundred of those plates in those days. Good eatin'!

Thanks Banker for the reply to my question about frying'em whole vs. fillets. As you said, they are good either way. One good thing about frying whole is that you get to eat the crispy end of the tail. :-)

That is a perfect meal, and the only thing that would make it better, (as in a month or so) would be garden fresh tomatoes rather than the store bought ones. Get hungry. and thirsty, looking at those pics! WTG!!
