I caught 1 white, 1 drum, and 4 gars!! the creek is infested with these gars!! I saw their dorsal fin surfacing all day yesterday Yep. Especially if you aren't fishing with artificials, you are going to have to deal with the gar. I don't remember seeing near this many last year.

Check out my new style! Thanks to TarponFly for the idea! These are $15 soccer cleats from Academy. All plastic, so they don't absorb any water, and mud slides right off of them. I was walking right up things the other day that would have been very questionable without them.

Not to jump on my soapbox, but safety first King, especially if the water is moving fast like it has been. I suggest an upgrade to a pair of stocking foot waders, and get a pair of cheap cleats at Marshall's or Ross. They will provide you with some much need stability and improve your fishing experience on the creeks.

Been using cleats for three years now from academy, best 20 bucks I ever spent, they are probly done after this season, but I wont creek fish with out em period! As far as ropes go, I usually skip spots that require ropes but I remember one year at hell hole where you were not getting out with out the rope lol. Days like that usually are not worth going anyway. You can almost always catch a fish or four even on the muddy days, but once you realize all the work mud and [censored] you got to go thru to get a few you start to tend to wait a few days till fishing is good and conditions are a little more favorable.

Yeah I had to go bigger. These shoes run really small anyway. I'd normally wear a 10, and I got 11.5. Probably should have gotten a 12, but a little tight doesn't hurt when you are knee deep in mud.

A lot are being caught today. I managed 35 I either gave them away or threw them back. Fishing was great till a all the wading guys got in the water then it slowed way down and I left. No offense just that is what happened Also snagged 15 buffalo which three i got in biggest I'm guessing was 30 lbs. Sure was fun on a 8 ft crappie rod and 10 lb braid. Most I caught were hugging the bottom it seemed and curl tail grub was out producing the spinners from what I saw. Everyone caught fish today they are there thick.

I went out from 7:00p to 9:00p, caught around 15 large sandies in the first hour but after 8 they just shut off for me.
