So I made my dough ball out of bran flake, flour, bread crumb, brown sugar and cherry juice. I've also heard some older guys say that the stickier your bait the better. I made a ball about the size of a half dollar coin on my hook. I did that because the bran flake dissolved quickly. I was just experimenting. They hit hard. I took my son and daughter out there and they had a blast on the Carp. Because they had not caught anything that big before. The other thing is that after watching the Carp come up to the surface thats where I dropped my line on a bobber and it dangled about 2 1/2 feet into the water only. I don't know if this had a factor either, but I had fished an area I know there was a brown water snake. So no one else fished that spot. Also it was a little bit of a steep bank and had a fallen limb. I can tell you that when I was pulling in the carp I almost fell in the water. Good luck and catching them. And by the way I used a treble hook that held my bait better, but was also completely enveloped by the dough. They are sensitive to the feel of it, so as fast as sucking it in they spit it out.

I had heard something similar to that. Back after they stopped selling the carp dough bait in bait shops we drove around to all the bait shops looking for whatever left over stock they had left. After the clerk would say they stopped selling it some older gentleman near by would always say you know whats best for catching coupe? (they'd always call them coupe like the car).....Wheaties and ________ (insert something sweet, they'd always say something a little different) One guy would say creme soda, the next guy would say strawberry soda, the next Big Red, and then the last one said Vanilla Extract. We tried all of them but they never came close to the dough bait (which smelled like cotton candy, I think my sister even ate some of it one time thinking it was candy) in terms of how fast you could catch a carp, so since my brother, friends, and I were kids and didn't have the patience to wait for a bite we stopped fishing for carp.

Try Carp Pool Lake in Cedar Hill.
They feed them at Lynn Creek marina(tourists throw bread).
I think its like 10 bucks to get into the park for a day but the carp are around that marina.
At the state park.7 dollars a day, they are from the bank to 150 feet out.

I did see a youtube video of that spot, its called the Oasis right? A friend of mine told me about it but he said you cant fish near the marina and that you have to go to the park and cast over to them. I was thinking about going early in the morning before the Oasis opens and fishing next to it then. Has anyone tried that?

You can't fish there. There is a fishing barge next to the Oasis that is open 24/7 and the staff will not let you fish except on the barge.
