We used to occasionally do a TFF trash pickup. We would pick a location and spend about a half day picking up.

The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

I've never been on lake Arlington but I agree that JP is trashy. Especially if you go up in the creeks on the west side of the lake. Trash everywhere on and off the water.

You would need at least a year on Ray Hubbard.

I've fished all the Metroplex lakes for years.....now living in Knoxville, Tn.....there's NO filthier lake in the spring than Lake Loudoun.....C&%p floating from downtown....trees floating down river when the generators are running 100%....tires...cups....I've even seen a newspaper vending machine floating in the middle of the lake.....extremely dangerous in low light conditions....I'll NEVER be on the lake @ night...

Lake Arlington, looks like the trash dump was flooded and washed into it.

Our club in Virginia used to hold a trash tourney every year. Got a local trash collection company to bring a dumpster down and we would weigh the trash. Person with the most trash picked up won prizes. Had a ton local business donate prizes. We would do it along the Potomac River. Great turnout too. Averaged about 100 people a year.

The west side of lake Arlington is the trashiest area of any lake I have ever been on by far, both on land and in the water.

The whole state of Texas is getting trashy.
Worse by the day.

We have people coming here from every direction. I read last week that 1050 people PER DAY are moving to Texas. That's 383,000 per year, 1,150,000 in three years.

Many of these folks do not respect land and land ownership the way Texans do.
I'm afraid it's not likely to improve any time soon.

"..The pleasantist angling is to see the fish
Cut with her golden oars the silver stream,
And greedily devour the treacherous bait.

What are we going to do about it? At my house rather than complain that the dishes are dirty, I just go clean the kitchen. Just a thought.

See you on the lake and have a great day!
