Hi guys. Every time I take my boat out I learn a little more about my Lowrance, HDS7 Gen 3 and I get better at reading it. I'm spending more and more time just trolling looking for stuff and today I found what appears to be a crappie goldmine. Here are a couple of shots of a "tree" that was taken out and dumped. Appears to be pretty good size, like maybe a barge was used. The only thing, we didn't catch much. It was later in the morning and the bite was pretty slow. It was frustrating seeing all those fish and not do much good..... Last week, my son and I set out some cedar trees in places we thought will be good. The trees I cut were appx 7.5 feet tall and I tried to cut trees that were of the fatter kind. We put one tree centered per 5 gallon bucket hoping that they would stand when they were dropped. The funny thing is that it appears that someone else dropped other trees too. I didn't see anything there before I dropped mine and really don't know which set is mine but I believe they are on the left in the first picture. The second picture is a different place where we dropped 2 more trees on a dropoff and they appear to be standing too. I hope they start holding fish soon.

So what is this? It appears that it might be some sort of PVC condo. We idled over it several times and took the pictures. It almost looks like maybe there are 2 separate condos here but not sure. What do you guys think?

I was out on the lake Saturday and went over two of my favorite brush piles and saw that they looked loaded up. I went back this morning with my crappie gear only to find they were loaded with 5-6 inch fish. I fished them for 4 hours this morning and only managed 6 keepers. Oh well beat sitting at home.

ATM a word of advise is mark both ends of that tree, I've found they prefer the roots some times over the limbs.... Nice shots & thanks for sharing....

It was a bunch of small brush piles. I saw several points that had collections of those.

An easy way to do it would be open the lake map that the cords are on, move the cursor & match the cords up & then hit the mark button to drop your waypoint.....

Friend gave me some gps cords how do you get to a key pad to install them? Its an 898 Thanks Darrell turn unit on, activate cursor, hit Mark . write down waypoint number, then go to your menu, waypoints, tracks , routes, and click waypoints. Look for the waypoint you just marked(most recent), then click edit .. Change the grid coordinate numbers to the numbers you friend gave you. Say hokus pokus three times and abra cadabra twice, and your done.
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

I think you just go to waypoints menu, click new and add in cords. That's how I do it anyways.
