http://www.bassmaster.com/news/four-elite-pros-prepare-togetherBefore the start of that season, though, VanDam was part of a four-angler group who gathered at whats quickly becoming a bass fishing destination, Grosse Savanne, for a day or two of fishing unlike anything they will experience on the Sabine River. Theres a part of this thats all about relaxing and getting in the groove before the season, said Dennis Tietje, the host and subsequently a guide at Grosse Savanne. Its nice to just chill out with those who understand what you are getting ready to do in a couple of days and theres not any pressure.
Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

Guys, thank you for all your positive comments! JP, we buried our history in Vegas years ago!
I am grateful for the process available to me through BASS. It is the right place for me to fish. Trip and Chuck are really good guys, and had to make a tough decision with the information they had at their disposal at 9pm Friday evening. BASS did not take a win or a top finish away from me. They did their job as professionals, and I have no hard feelings about it.
My protest was formulated around 2 major points. A website that the state of Louisiana uses for property borders, was not a final ruling of a regulatory body. This website was used in my DQ. I proved that it should not have been used. Secondly, I proved that I followed all the rules laid out in the tournament briefing sheet.
There are additional facts that I can share. But remember I am bound by an Angler Code of Conduct. I can share facts with you, but I cannot do so with prejudice. These are the same facts that I shared with the appeals panel: 1) The protest Dennis filed quoted that a Sweet Lake Land and Oil Company property manager telling him I fished private water. 2) Dennis Tietje never saw me in this water. 3) Sweet Lake Land and Oil Co owns the land where Grosse Savanne is located. 4) Gross Savanne sponsors Dennis Tietje. 5) The man posting signs Friday morning was wearing a Grosse Savanne t-shirt.
Those are facts that I can share. I will not draw any conclusions on them. I am moving forward.
Again guys, I sure appreciate the support! Especially from my sponsors! How do they say it. BAAAAAMMMMMM
I can backlash toilet paper.

If calling the TD after witnessing the signs being posted and admitting you were fishing there is not turning yourself in then something is wrong with this picture. Where is the proof Teitge protested. I read the article but no where does it state Teitge protested. Dennis has already said that he was the one that protested....

I have a couple of questions. First, is Miller's Lake (the lake they did the Wounded Warrior event at) at Gross Savanne accessible by boat from the Sabine River? If it is accessible by boat, are there posted signs saying it is private water and not fishable during the tournament? If there are no posted signs and it is accessible by boat, would Tietje have been fishing in acceptable tournament waters during off-limits period and not during the official practice time? Would this constitute disqualification for rules violation? Lots of hypotheticals here. I'm sure if it wasn't off limits or accessible there would have been a bunch of boats in there. Just thought I'd ask.
I am glad that the DQ was overturned for Mike. It seemed like he did everything by the book and should not have been originally DQ'd.

JP, we buried our history in Vegas years ago! I do remember burying a few cold beverages, but that's about all I can recall. Maybe we can bury a few more in July and you can sneak away from the booths to catch a tarpon with me and Potts.
The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

Not starting anything but where does it say Tietje was the one who protested? Are you speculating or showing facts? Seems like speculation at this point. As stated before, not starting anything but I do want to see FACTS. Peter Peter I can't provide any more than I stood 5 feet from Mike in his living room and was told that's how it went down and saw the case the he outlined.
