I agree Shimano! Too many car there now. Also, not sure if anybody else noticed, the fish caught out there don't taste as good as the ones from Rowlett, there is a weird taste to them.

I had a buddy told me that it's polluted.. Back in the day some chemical company did some dump.

yup. fish being caught there is nasty to eat i would not recommend eating fish there, its the creek. they have been in there so long for the run but i think once they make it back out to the main lake it should be fine. any reports on rowlett creek? any good size still there or just the smaller males

. Not sure but i think the city runs there treated waste water in there. The fish do have a odd taste.

PLEASE CONSULT WITH YOUR DOCTOR, OR OTHER QUALIFIED HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL BEFORE EATING ANY FISH CAUGHT AT CREEK X. It stank!

So how much longer will the run last at Rowlett Creek? Is it starting to wind down? Any thoughts?

I think it depends on the rain. If it rains like it's supposed to next week, should trigger another run.

Only caught a small white bass between 6-7 PM at south of Miller.

BTW, the sunset was beautiful.

I don't know where you guys are getting the keepers, but I keep trying. Just got back. Landed about 50 9" sandies lol. Fished a poor rooster-tail to its death...as the blade fell off its rooster-tail and paintless (hackle LONG gone) hook. Ha. Tying more flies tonight, so will hopefully at least have fun catching them on a 4-wt tomorrow, even if I can't get a meal out of them.

Rain permitting I'm hoping to go back and catch some next week. Had a buddy show me a spot to fly fish down there and I had never fished the run before with any success. Had a blast, I'm not keeping just enjoyed the action. Hoping they will still be biting good.

Fished from about 6 to dark south of miller. Started around NT10 area. Didn't get a bite until I made my way all the way back to the bridge. Caught about 6 undersized sandies and a keeper crappie right at dark. Black roadrunner with chartreuse head.

Side note, watch where you are walking out there. Almost stepped on a snake that had posted up in the middle of the trail.

I was in the area Saturday, 2:30 or so, after a bike ride at Rowlett Creek Preserve, Centerville/Castle, so I drove down to Miller to see all the fishing. I couldn't find much at Miller/Rowlett Creek, except construction. There is a parking lot just east of the creek with several people parked, and a few men fishing in a tiny pond next to the lot and beside a wood fence. I went up to talk to them as ask if any were in the forum. Nope, and these chaps were so friendly and talkative. Kidding! Maybe they thought I was scaring the few minnows I saw swimming, or who knows. I do wonder if that is/was a real pond or just rainwater. I'd been there years before with an ex-gf horseback riding in the exact spot. I do not remember a pond, that was about 2011.
Now then, I'm guessing the fishing must be further down south from Miller Road.

You might have to pay $75 to get a guided trip to learn that secret...
