I wish he could have fished day three. It still bumps him up from 70 something to 35.
I never understood the original decision.
Go Mike.

I am happy BASS did the right thing, shame Mike was not given the chance to move up on day 3. I guess that is just the way it shook out.
So, now what happens to the guy who filed a false protest to get inside the cut line and get a check?

http://www.bassfan.com/opinion_article.asp?ID=1310#.VRQ23PzF-SoI'm happy for Kernan and glad BASS did the right thing. I lost a lot of respect for the angler that protested. He's supposed to be the local favorite and has bombed in both Sabine River events. Only way he could get inside the cut was to pull this BS. Pitiful sportsmanship. I'd be willing to bet that the canal that got "posted" on Day 2 was done so by a friend of the guy who protested. But we'll probably never know.

I don't know about the check but he the guy who made the cut will probably be dropped back to his 2 day total and whatever place that put him at. Was it a false report or was it a bad read by the TD. I've seen it before and been a part of one in BASS back in the 90's. A guy I knew was accused of asking for lake information during the competition. Dewey called me at home to ask if I knew anything and I told him he was with me and I'd take a polygraph. Too late as the competitor had already failed it and was on his way back to Virginia. A year later and the kid who was in the store surfaced but it was too late to do anything about it. DD was in 9th place when he was DQed.

I read the both article links and don't see where it's mentioned who protested. I assume it wasn't Chris Lane, right? I guess I missed seeing who it was........ Jim
