Congrats! Does the fishing seem to be better in the AM than in the PM or does it really matter?

I've been told it depends on the Barometric pressure. Personally I just say 10 hail mary's and I'm good for the day.

Nice to see a few photos, even if a few were from last year. It would be interesting to see just how "elbow to elbow" the crowd actually is, or is it?

Addendum: I was bike riding up Rowlett Creek near the bike trail, that's near Castle just off Centerville/Firewheel Parkway, just north of 66. I saw two fisherman walking who had no luck at that time, (noon'ish) but we all saw lots of gar swimming along in the clear water. I was wondering if the area nearer to Miller Road was better since it's closer to the lake...

Well, if you drive across the Miller bridge, you will see that there are two dams in place for the bridge construction. Certainly some fish have crossed them, the question is, how many. I would think that the second dam they put in below the first would create kind of a ladder to help them get up. There was only one dam in place earlier in the construction. Not many people have risked the time to try fising north of Miller, so nobody really knows what's up. I was thinking of checking out the bike park and maybe up towards Firewheel myself this evening since I'm just a hop, skip, and a jump away.

From what I can tell, the gar are there above Miller, but I haven't seen evidence of much else...yet!

Lots of bikers though, and a large,m on foot, iron man'ish obstacle course race this Saturday!

Never tried it, but I hear gar are some of the tastiest fish out there. Just have to know how to clean them.

great article, use it every time I fish to temper expectations. It is a guide more than an absolute truth but it has proven it self time and again for me... I highly advise you to put the link to the page of that website on your phone, it is really nice to have when you are out on the creeks I keep trying to find patterns to anticipate the pressure base on what I have learned but I still have found nothing to give me insight into future pressure. Maybe one day I will be psychic! lol
